Crisis Response Support

True North Response Support is a by-invitation volunteer list for people willing to offer practical, steady support during crisis-response efforts.

True North volunteers are never self-deployed. We only respond when invited by recognized relief, rescue, emergency management, church, ministry, or community response partners.

This is not a rescue team. This is not command. This is not crisis leadership.

True North is practical support: steady hands, grounded presence, and useful help when trusted leaders open the door.

Sometimes that may look like folding blankets, handing out towels, passing cold water, tracking details, preparing a space, moving supplies, or doing the unexpected thing no one had time to plan for.

Being on the interest list does not obligate anyone to go when called. It simply allows us to contact them when a need arises. Each opportunity will include the location, timing, type of support requested, physical expectations, and any required qualifications. Each person can decide yes or no for each specific request.

All active True North volunteers must be willing to:

  • Complete basic First Aid training
  • Maintain current CPR certification
  • Follow the direction of the hosting relief or response organization
  • Serve with humility, flexibility, and calm
  • Work in practical support roles as needed
  • Respect safety boundaries and confidentiality
  • Communicate honestly about availability, limitations, and capacity

Additional emergency-response training is encouraged but not required to join the interest list. We can provide links to free or low-cost resources for those who want to grow in readiness.
